Tuesday Finds: Bringin’ Home the Trends

Last time, I shared some of the awesome finds at the 2020 Interior Design Show in Toronto. Today, let’s talk about how you can bring those trends into your own home. Don’t know where to find them? Hey, I’ve got your back! Check out some of this year’s biggest trends in interior design and where you can shop for them locally.

Trend #1: Big, Bold Colours

Nothing creates an exciting POP in your space like a bold accent colour. Accent furniture can create amazing and creative spaces. Colour punches up a neutral palette and brings an interesting visual feature to pull your eyes’ focus.

Trend #2: Light Wood Tones

Light woods are close to nature - clean, earthy and warm – and like a John Legend lyric, we love all their perfect imperfections. Timeless in their colouring, they are a must-have in any home design, from classic to contemporary.

Trend #3: Mixed Metals

Who’s in the mood for a little heavy metal? This look is both slick and modern while bringing some glamourous bling to a room. Blending a mixed-metal cocktail of cooler metals like silver, nickel and steel with warmer tones such as gold, bronze and batch has incredible appeal.

Sudbury, where should I go next? If you have ideas of places I can find interior design inspiration and do some trend spotting, please let me know by leaving a comment below.

We know you’ve got your hands full, juggling the demands of working from home while helping your kiddos get the hang of e-learning models.
