Our Friends at Exceptional Painting Named Sudbury’s Top Small Enterprise

We are over the moon about the news that one of our favourite local paint contractors just won this year’s Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce’s Bell Business Excellence Small Enterprise Award.

Congratulations to Mihai Cristolovean, President of Exceptional Painting Inc., who accepted the award on September 15. Take it from us, Mihai is a caring and committed business owner, a loyal customer and genuinely one of nicest people you could ever work with.

“Mihai has always impressed and inspired us with his positive entrepreneurial attitude, work ethic and dedication to customers,” says our very own Kelly Scott. “His personal success story is a reminder that with passion and perseverance, dreams really do come true.

Mihai Exceptional Painting

In just five short years, Mihai went from starting his own company to being honoured as one of Sudbury’s best small businesses. Amazing! A Romanian immigrant, Cristolovean married a Sudbury girl and relocated here in 2013. It wasn’t long after that he spotted an opportunity for a high-end residential paint business in the Greater Sudbury area.

Taking a business risk, he started Exceptional Painting in 2015, and it’s now recognized among the North’s most trusted and reliable professional painting companies.

“We focus as much on delivering a high-quality customer experience as we do putting high-quality work into every job,” Mihai says. “That means making everything as easy as possible for the customer, including making sure our detailed quote at the beginning of the job is precisely the same amount as what they paid at the end of it.”

While Exceptional Painting Inc. is already booked solid through April 2021, we love the fact that Mihai, who is hands-on at the job site every day (what a guy!), finds the time to better our whole industry. Not only does he run an apprenticeship program to give inexperienced painters proper training, he regularly consults with his fellow contractors and business owners.

“There’s plenty of work for everyone, so instead of competing with one another, I believe we should learn from each another. That’s how we can elevate our entire industry and create a better experience for the customer in terms of quality and value.”

Way to go Mihai! Learn more at Exceptional Painting.ca
